Starbucks: Kevin Johnson believes in on-the-go coffee services

Kevin Johnson
Lesser known than founder Howard Schultz who made Starbucks a global chain, Kevin Johnson is today the captain of a ship in the middle of a storm. Operating 32,000 stores, Starbucks expects to lose up to 20% of revenue for the full fiscal year ending on September 27th).
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Johnson (ex-Manager from tech companies like Microsoft or Juniper Networks) faced criticism of management issues, including relations with the African American community, during the Black Lives Matter (B.L.M.) protests. He also had to admit his mistake and admit that employees could wear BLM protest signs (T-shirts), as long as they were provided by the company. Johnson joined Starbucks in 2009 and climbed all the way from Chief Operating Officer to C.E.O. in 2017. He has flexed his innovative talents to deal with the crisis. In an open letter, he paints a portrait of the new Starbucks.
