SSG Food Market Seoul, The Concept of the month

The high-end SSG Food Market in Seoul
“Food, done well, connects people to people”. This is the mantra of the South
Korean retailer E-Mart Inc., which recently opened a premium food hall concept and fusion supermarket in Seoul called “SSG Food Market”. Redesigned by Landini Associates, this replaces a former premium supermarket under the “Star Super” banner. Located in the “Dogok” affluent suburb of Seoul, it is not only a food market but also a community centre, where locals can meet, eat and shop until 10:00 pm. It covers 3,700 sq.m and features departments run by SSG, by franchises (like Starbucks) as well as third party retailers. Customers enjoy fresh food and prepared foods, meals to-go, bakery (run by the U.S. brand Tartine), a fishmonger, butcher, traditional Korean street food, cheesemaker, wine and beer, coffee roastery, florist and homewares. The restaurant section has a total of 200 covers.
