Be inclusive, stupid! The new moto of American retailers
In the U.S.A., several companies have been criticised for lack of openness towards minorities (women, blacks, Latinos, people with disabilities, LGBT, obese...) so they have put words into action.
Diversity, equity and inclusion…This was one of the main themes of a NRF Converge event at the end of June 2021, in a country that remembers the murder of George Floyd in May 2020. According to Korn Ferry, 9% of the top 50 retailers in the U.S.A. incorporate a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion metric into H.R. policies. That’s not a lot, but 2 years ago there were virtually none. Several executives recently made their mea culpa.
