Harrods to open first Chinese stand-alone store
British department store Harrods (a subsidiary of Qatar Holding LLC and a turnover of €987.6 million for the year to February 2019, a rise of 1%), will open a first store in Shanghai in 2020. This is the first stand-alone unit outside the U.K. The retailer has been investing in China for 10 years with pop-up stores and events. Managing Director Michael Ward said that Harrods now needs a permanent location in China.
