U.S.A.: Electronic sports halls are thriving in shopping centres
Whilst more and more shopping is online, electronic sports are transported to the interior of American malls. Several e-sport players are interested in physical locations, taking advantage of the fall in rental costs for shopping centres. However, gaming fans still prefer to indulge in their favourite competitions (FIFA, League of Legends, Rainbow Six, Fortnite, Formula 1, World Power Tour, etc.) via top-of-the-range computers without worrying about cheaters or slow network connections. “We believe that shopping centres should become places of experience, not just a shopping destination,” says Jud Hannigan, C.E.O. of Allied Esports Entertainment Inc., one of the leading American companies in the sector. The business is Nasdaq-listed and controlled by Black Ridge Acquisition.
