Decathlon deploys “scan and go” with MishiPay
Decathlon (2,193 stores in 54 countries, turnover of €12.4 billion in 2019), is deploying a mobile checkout system in 81 German stores with MishiPay, which was elected ‘Start-Up of the Year’ at the 2019 I.C.C. Start-up Awards. Using “Decathlon Deutschland Scan & Go”, customers scan and pay for items via a smartphone. Once payment is made, a receipt is loaded onto the application, products are removed from the store inventory and any anti-theft register is deactivated within seconds. “Whilst this solution reduces delays in stores, especially at checkout, it is Covid-19 aware, ensuring minimal contact with people and payment devices”, explains David Grenham, Marketing Director of MishiPay.
